Andy Sovia
the artist, was born in New York and has been painting with oils since he was twelve years old. He studied at numerous art institutions including commercial Art at Brooklyn Tech, the Brooklyn Museum Art School, the School of Visual Arts and he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fine Arts from the State University of New York.
Over the years he has had numerous one person shows and been in many group shows. He’s done many portrait paintings including oils of celebrities including John Belushi, John Byner and Rodney Dangerfield.
Although he works in many styles and experiments quite often, his roots seem to be in surrealism and most of his work tends to take on a surrealistic nature.
He currently resides in Palm Coast, Florida where he paints continually doing commission work. As he continues to have his own shows, his paintings hang in galleries and numerous establishments throughout the country.
